National Pet Memorial Day at Pet Paradise Cemetery

The second Sunday in September is National Pet Memorial Day; A time to remember and honor your beloved and faithful pets who have passed on.  This year, for the first time in over 13 years, there will be a memorial service held at Pet Paradise Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on that Sunday Sept. 14th.  Whether or not you have a pet laid to rest at Pet Paradise, we invite you to bring a lawn chair and join us for this brief celebration, remembrance, and appreciation of all pets. Some members of the Miss. Cyclists Curing Cancer Century Ride

Join the Cyclists Curing Cancer Century Ride, benefiting Baptist Cancer Services' Serenity Garden for cancer patients and their families. The journey begins at the Baptist Healthplex-Clinton and stretches along the beautiful, historic Natchez Trace. Participants will receive a Century Ride T-shirt and a pasta lunch after the event. Rest stops will be stocked with water, sports drinks, snacks, and fruit. The event will take place Saturday, September 20, at 7:30 a.m. at the Baptist Healthplex-Clinton. Baptist's Cancer Rehab Program is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. every week at no cost in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center, 1227 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. Christopher Pena Jr who is suffering from Pediatric Cardiomyopathy (it effects the heart muscle).  He is a 4 month old hospice patient who is from Richland,
MS. It will be held at the Richland Eastside park on September 13,2008 from 10 am to 6pm. There will also be a blood drive held by Mississippi Blood Services that day also. If you need any information you can call   601-927-2347.
 
We will have space jumps and we will be selling $5.00 wristbands for that and the kids can jump all day with that. Also we will have games, facepainting and a table with sand art and we will be selling tickets and the tickets will cost 2 for $1.00, a silent auction will be held and in the auction we will have various sport items that are signed (baseball, nascar and football), and a limo ride voucher and various other things also. There will be a raffle that will be held that day and we have about 40 local resturants, hair salons, spas, tattoo shops, and many others, we will be selling hamburgers and hotdogs that we will sell as a plate lunch. Smiley the clown will be coming and there will be a dunking booth. Also Sno biz will be out there. It will be basically a fun day in the park and very family oriented and at the same time they will be helping a little precious angel. All proceeds will go to help with his medical costs and meds.
